If areas has been defined, you will be able to display the areas in the Mapit for Jira gadget to help see if an issue is inside or outside the defined area. Component can also be added to an issue depending on what area it is situated in. If you need access to areas, see Area Admin in Administrators guide for more information and ask your JIRA Administrator about it.
Create new area
Areas can only be created by a project administrator, using the Mapit area admin gadget. See Area Admin in Administrators guide for more information.
Load areas
To load areas defined in Mapit, click on the icon:
and then select a project
The areas will be loaded automatically.
For example:
Create Issue in the area
Jira issues can be created as usual, but in addition, a popup will display information on which component the Mapit area administrator has associated to the selected region.
